Licorice Root

Product ID: licorice-root

Dried fine cut natural Licorice root.

Licorice is the root of the legume Glycyrrhiza Glabra, the root is cut from the plant and dried and then finely cut for the production of gin and other brewing uses. The flavour remains very true even after distillation or during a beer boil, but brings it's viscous qualities adding smoothness to gin and beer and a natural sweetness. A great addition to Stouts and Porters used sparingly in the boil, and in distillation or infusion of gins.

Licorice can also be used to make flavoured vodkas, liqueurs such as Sambuca, cordials and as a flavouring in wine. Combines well with blackcurrant, anise, elderflower, elderberry and all the main gin botanicals such as Juniper, Angelica, Coriander and Orris.

Pack sizes available 50 grams, 250gms, 1kg Country of origin; Spain.
